The Specs Factory is a family owned local group of dispensing optician outlets. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and quality frames and lenses. We specialise solely in the supply of spectacle frames and lenses. All of the glasses that we produce are made and quality checked in our state-of-the-art optical lab in Norwich.
Products/ services
We offer the following products
- Prescription glasses- We have a selection of over 1,000 frames with ranges from budget frames through to titanium, rimless and designer glasses.
- Prescription sunglasses- Any of our optical frames can be supplied with tinted lenses so that they can be used as sunglasses. We also have a selection of sunglass frames that are specifically designed as prescription sunglasses. These frames are actual sunglasses so they’ll offer good coverage from the sun from all sides and keep you looking trendy! Our latest addition to the prescription sunglass range are this years Fiorelli sunglasses. These fabulous ladies designer sunglasses are available with prescription sunglass lenses from £79. We also have a wide choice of gents sunglasses.
- Designer frames- We stock a diverse range of designer brands including Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Karen Millen, Ghost, Calvin Klein, Jaeger, Austin Reed, Fiorelli, Vision by Conran, Head, Jai Kudo and many more.
- Reglazing- We can supply replacement lenses for your own glasses.- If you have a pair of specs with scratched lenses or you want to update them with your new prescription then why not let us quote for you. We can supply new lenses for your glasses from as little as £29.
- Sports glasses- We supply glasses for most sports activities from golf to skiing to squash. We’ll make sure that you get the right frame, lenses and tint to give you the functionality that you’re looking for. We can even supply prescription swimming goggles.
- Accessories- We have products from novelty cases that look like mini-handbags through to spectacle lens cords, high quality microfibre cloths and cleaning spray.
- Repairs- Having our own lab means that we can quickly and carefully repair many types of frame. If your favorite pair of glasses is broken then we may be able to fix it at a very reasonable price. For example- we charge as little as £10 for soldering a bridge.

Our lenses
Single vision lenses
You can buy single vision glasses from us online and in store. We use the same materials to make our lenses and frames as the high street opticians. Every pair of glasses that we make is checked for quality and accuracy to British standards. All of our lenses and coatings are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 12 months.
Bifocal lenses
Bifocal lenses are only available from our branches and not online.
Our bifocal lenses are sourced from three UK based manufacturers.

Varifocal lenses
Varifocal lenses are only available from our branches and not online.
The majority of our varifocal lenses are supplied by a London-based manufacturer.
The Wideview lens is made using the latest technology in varifocal lens production- freeform surfacing. All of our varifocal lenses come with a ‘tolerance guarantee’. This means that we are 100% confident that you will experience good visual acuity with your new varifocal lenses. If you do not then we will either supply you with bifocal lenses or single vision lenses at no extra cost.
We can also supply any of the popular ‘branded’ varifocal lenses so if you choose to wear Zeiss, Varilux, Nikon, or any other brand of lens then ask us in store for a price of your chosen lens.
