Your prescription
Before you can proceed any further, you need to do two very important things:
1. Have your current prescription to hand.
2. Enter the detail of your prescription extremely carefully.
If you haven't got a current prescription please visit your optician for an eye test. He will then give you your prescription. If you are not due for a sight test but you do not have your prescription then you can get a copy from the optician that tested your eyes.
Pupil Distance Measurement
To help us make your glasses accurately, we recommend that you ask your optician to also supply you with your pupil distance measurement. This is not normally taken during your sight test but your optician is able to measure it easily.
Entering your prescription
Before entering your prescription details, please ensure that you can read and understand the information. Then enter it very carefully - it's extremely important that we have the correct information.
Please ensure that when you enter the sphere (SPH) and cylinder (CYL) measurements that they start with a + or – sign before the numbers (some opticians may write this sign above the numbers).
SPHERE measurement: must be between +8 and -8 in steps of 0.25 (e.g. +2.25, -0.75 etc.).
CYL measurement: must be between +6 and -6 and in steps of 0.25 (e.g. -1.50, +2.75 etc.).
AXIS: from 0 to 180 in 0.5 steps (e.g. 140, 92.5 etc.).
PRISM: Most prescriptions do not have information in the 'prism' or 'base' sections. If yours does not please leave it blank. If you do have prism in your prescription please enter it in the boxes provided
Reading add
If you wear reading glasses, you will have to supply us with your reading add. This is usually shown on your prescription under the distance prescription (add screenshot). Your reading add must be between +0.75 to +3.00 (e.g. +2.25, +1.75 etc.).
Unsure?
If you are unsure of any measurements, or if the numbers aren't clear on your prescription, please get in touch.
